Bolton Ramblers Group is asking people to walk this way this January.
Organised treks started over the weekend with a visit to the Yorkshire Dales and the next walk is closer to home.
On Sunday, January 14, there will be a walk of around five miles following the Rotary Way through the Aspull area.
Meet at 2pm at Horwich Parkway station, BL6 6LB (Bus from Bolton, Stand B, to Middlebrook shopping centre).
There is no need to book a place on this walk. Just turn up in suitably sturdy and weatherproof clothes and boots.
For further information about Bolton Ramblers' activities, please contact boltonramblers@hotmail.co.uk or visit the Bolton Ramblers' page on Facebook or their website: www.boltonramblers.org.uk.
The Bolton Rotary Way was created as part of the 2005 Rotary centenary project, which was promoted by all seven Bolton Rotary Clubs — and said Russell is the perfect way of exploring the borough by foot.
The full long-distance circular footpath closely follows the boundary of Bolton and is just over 50 miles long. The route includes industrial heritage sites, reservoirs, historic estates, memorials and country parks.
