Bolton School takes centre stage in Netflix's new gripping thriller, Fool Me Once starring Michelle Keegan and Richard Armitage.
The opening scenes feature the school, which has become a popular location for filming, Cold Feet and The Stranger, which was also based on a Harlan Coben novel, have been shot there.
Fool Me Once aired on New Year’s Day and the opening scene featured the famous Bolton School quad.
Channel 4’s It’s A Sin filmed at the school, as did American teen drama Get Even which called the school Bannerman independent School for their series, leaving viewers impressed and wanting to know if the school existed in real life.
The money made by Bolton School through filming goes towards the bursary scheme which opens the gates to bright students regardless of their background.
Adele Hughes, Manager of Bolton School Weddings and Events, said: “It was great to see Bolton School in the opening shot and then featured again in episode five as the Franklin Biddle Academy.
"Having worked with this location team on many other productions, including Harlan Coben’s The Stranger, we knew this would be a great project to get involved with.
"Their professionalism and collaborative approach always make the entire process highly enjoyable.
"Supporting Fool Me Once not only demonstrated the versatility of our location but also played an important role in shaping the future for deserving pupils as the income we receive will support the School’s bursary fund.
"Being part of this production reinforced our commitment to building partnerships in the filming industry and we look forward to working on future projects.”
The Coben thriller was partly filmed in Bolton and stars the likes of Joanna Lumley and Richard Armitage alongside the ex-Corrie star, Michelle.
Michelle’s character, Maya Stern, is dealing with the brutal murder of her husband Joe when she checks her nanny cam to see her daughter playing with Joe.
Maya’s life spirals as she tried to make sense of the lies and secrets her family is now shrouded in.
The show was filmed in Le Mans Crescent and at Bolton School, with Michelle seen on set.
Bolton School is presented as Joe’s old school in the drama and a "posh" school he was a student at.
This is not the first-time filming has taken place at the school, with another drama starring Michelle, Our Girl, also having film scenes there.
Filming took place in Bolton town centre
The drama is now streaming on Netflix.
