A car was seized in Bolton on New Year’s Eve after police said they found its driver had been uninsured.
The red Toyota was spotted by officers on Moss Bank Way on the evening of Sunday, December 31.
They say that having stopped the car and investigated further, they found that the driver was not insured and seized the car.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “ Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team seized this vehicle last night after it was sighted on Moss Bank Way in Bolton.
“Enquiries established that the driver had no insurance to drive the vehicle.
“The vehicle was seized under S165 Road Traffic Act and the driver was given a Traffic Offence Report.”
This comes amid several recent reports of uninsured and unlicensed drivers all across Bolton in recent weeks and months.
Police have also reported recent cases of drink driving and drug driving as well as speeding at various locations around the borough.
Officers have urged anyone with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour on the roads or otherwise in their communities to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can also call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
