A plan has been put forward to turn a Bolton terraced house into a children’s home for youngsters will “emotional and behavioural issues".
If approved the plan will see a terraced house on Alfred Street in Burnden turned into a two-bedroom residential care home.
This will also include space for staff working on a rota to provide “constant care” to the youngsters who are living there.
A statement from developers Building Sense said: “The applicant, M. Manders Limited, is a new company delivering specialist care to children with emotional and behavioural issues.”
It added: “The applicant’s proposal is that the property will be occupied by two young persons, aged between eight and 17, together with two staff permanently on site, four full time and two part time, working in rotation to provide full time care on a rolling ‘two-on one-off’ shift pattern.
“Effectively, therefore, the property will be occupied as a single household with two adults and two young persons on site at any one time.
“Members of the household will take meals together and share domestic chores, shopping, social and leisure activities akin to any normal family.
“Each young person will have their own bedroom and will share all other domestic facilities within the property such as the bathroom, kitchen, lounge, and garden.”
The house is currently being used as a normal family home but the children’s home plans will also include some changes being made to the building.
The statement said: “No extensions or structural alterations are proposed, though there are some changes to the internal layout and room uses required, to accommodate the use.
“The two smaller first floor bedrooms will be converted to one larger bedroom, creating two first floor bedrooms for young persons.

The plans were put before the council on Thursday, December 21.
The authority will aim to decide whether or not to approve the proposal by Thursday, February 15.
