Hundreds of children in Gaza are able to eat fresh hot meals thanks to Amir Khan’s charity along with Smile Aid after raising more than £250,000.
The Amir Khan Foundation and Smile Aid partnered together to deliver essential aid and food to the families in Gaza amid the Middle East war which has seen thousands killed already.
As part of their work, a team is on the ground to deliver hot meals with the charities posting pictures of children holding the food.
Recently, an event was held in Manchester to raise money for Gaza.
Retired Bolton boxer Amir said in a statement on social media: “Following the great success of the @amirkhanfoundation and @smile.aid event in Manchester, I would like to give special thanks to *H. E. Dr Husam Zomlot Ambassador of the State of Palestine* @hzomlot who came specially to show his support to our cause alongside The Consul General of Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq, Libya, Lord Wajid Khan and many others officials with over 700 VIP guests, supports and the business community from around the UK, Alhamdulilah.
“Special thanks to my brother @ishfaq_farooq & @mylahore_ for giving us the Marquee with food cost free.
“Our support for the people of Palestine and those most in need around the world has only got stronger and as promised shall continue inshallah.
“Thank you Manchester again for your generous love and support raising over 250k in pledges for 🇵🇸 Mashallah.”
Smile Aid have been posting images every day on social media, highlighting the plight of the children and families in Gaza.
In an Instagram post, a spokesperson said: “The situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic. Loss of innocent lives, families, livelihood, childhood, freedom.
"Team Smile Aid is doing all it can to provide the Palestinian victims hope, support, and relief in the most difficult times.”
