A number of motorists have been given fines for breaking the speed limit on one of the main roads in Bolton.
St Peter’s Way on the A666 is subject to a usual 50mph limit.
The decrease in speed limit from 70mph as motorists head off the ring road is well signposted.
The speed of a driver is monitored by average speed cameras.
These devices can capture the average speed at a car is going at between any two set points along the road.
A number of motorists have recently been penalised for breaching this limit.
The following cases called at the Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Paul Crompton drover at 59mph going northbound between Raikes Lane and Bradford Street.
The 51-year-old carried out the offence while Volkswagen Transporter in May this year.
The case against him was proved at court.
Crompton, from Westpoint View in the town centre of Bolton, was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.
Ravinder Singhdrove a Mercedes at 57mph heading southbound between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane.
The 35-year-old carried out the offence in May this year.
The case against him was proved at court.
Singh, from Norwood Avenue, Shipley, Bradford, was fined £330 and given three points on his licence.
Craig Foster drove a BMW at 58mph travelling southbound between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane.
The 35-year-old carried out the offence in April this year.
Foster, from King Street, Westhoughton, admitted the offence at court.
He was fined £133 and given three points on his licence.
Imran Ali drove a Land Rover at 61mph heading north between Raikes Lane and Bradford Street.
The 34-year-old carried out the offence in April this year.
The case against him was proved at court.
Ali, from Canada Street, Bolton, was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.
Jon Kowalski drove at 58mph heading southbound between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane.
The 53-year-old carried out the offence behind the wheel of a Mercedes in April this year.
The case against Kowalski, from Longcauseway, Farnworth, was proven at court.
He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.
