Manchester has been named among the best places to visit in the UK next year in a new list by TimeOut.
If you’re starting to think about making plans for 2024, a trip to Manchester could be one to put in the diary as it’s described as a place that serves “a cultural banquet”.
TimeOut looked back on some of the things that have happened in Manchester this year, picking out the launch of Factory International at Aviva Studios and the moment The Snug, a grassroots gig venue, was rescued.
It also highlighted the reopening of Manchester Museum and went on to share some of the events that can be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike in 2024.
What did TimeOut say about Manchester?
The city is ranked in 10th place in a list with 15 places featured, including Wrexham, Isles of Scilly, St Andrews and more.
To come up with the list, the team looked at "the hottest launches for next year" and used their "expert knowledge of cultural scenes" across the UK.

TimeOut added: “The star of the show will be the huge, innovative Co-op Live which is opening in April, backed by Bruce Springsteen and Harry Styles and already has the likes of Liam Gallagher and Oilvia Rodrigo lined up to perform. And in much-anticipated news for its food scene, L’Enclume chef Tom Barnes is opening his first solo restaurant, Skof, in the Noma district in spring.”
The perfect day out in Manchester consists of eating breakfast at Idle Hands, strolling around the Northern Quarter and looking in indie shops including Queer Lit and the Craft and Design Centre, according to TimeOut.
