Bolton comic Paddy McGuinness returned to his hometown this weekend to celebrate Christmas with some old friends and an Olympic athlete.

The former Top Gear presenter returned home for an annual festive celebration with Bolton chums as well as Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah.

The pals caught up for a "powsh" meal at The Ivy in Manchester’s Spinningfields.

Writing on his Instagram account, the actor and comedian wrote: “Every Christmas I get my auld Bolton pals out for a powsh meal. I worked at Warburtons with a couple of them in the 90s!

Earlier this week, the popular TV presenter announced a series of dates for his upcoming stand-up tour, Paddy McGuinness - Nearly There.

He has assured fans he has plans to perform in his hometown as part of his national tour which also includes dates in Leeds, Edinburgh, and London.

The tour runs from October 2024 till March 2025 but Bolton has not appeared on the schedule yet. However, he will appear at Blackburn’s King George’s Hall, The Lowry, and The Blackpool opera House.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said: "We’re looking into more dates for the tour. Got to squeeze in another Manchester along with Ireland, Liverpool and of course… Bolton! You’ll know when I know, what I know you’ll know, then we’ll all know. No?"
