A man was arrested in Halliwell after police said they witnessed a suspected drug deal on Friday night.
Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team spotted the incident on Halliwell Road in which police say a man was seen throwing away two bags as they approached him.
Police say they believe the bags contained Class A drugs.
The man was also allegedly found in possession of a knife and was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a bladed article.
The man has since been bailed while officers make further enquiries.
The arrest was among a number of incidents in the area over the previous week, including those linked with drugs.
Officers ordered the driver of a blue MG to stop after it was reportedly seen driving at high speeds on Bury Road in Breightmet.

A spokesperson for Bolton North Police said: “There was a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle and the driver and passenger were searched.
“The passenger was found to be in possession of cannabis and the driver tested positive for cocaine, so was arrested for drug driving.”
On Thursday, a man was stopped in Halliwell and officers suspected he was involved with drug dealing. He was accused of being possession of cannabis and issued with a warning.
A number of other vehicle crimes were reported too.
A force spokesperson said: “Officers located a silver Seat on Crossdale Road in Breightmet.
“The vehicle was found to be displaying false registration plates and had tools in the vehicle which were likely being used to commit crime.
"The vehicle was seized so we can establish the true identity.
“On Wednesday, officers arrested a female in Breightmet who had failed to attend court on December 12 in relation to an offence under the Animal Welfare Act. She was taken to custody and then on to court.
“On Thursday morning, officers arrested a male in Breightmet who had failed to attend court on December 12 in relation to an offence of possessing cannabis. He was taken to custody and then on to court.
“On Thursday afternoon, officers sighted a moped being ridden on Garstang Avenue in Breightmet.
"The rider was stopped and found to have no insurance. The moped was seized and the rider reported for driving with no insurance.”
