An actress and comedian from Bolton has told a comedy show of the time she dressed up as a Christmas elf and got into a fight.

Sophie Willan was also reunited with a former headteacher on the show after the opposing team had to guess how she knew Frank Vigon.

The now retired maverick headteacher taught her at Turton High School Media Arts College.

Explaining her connection to Mr Vigon, she said: “This is Frank, he kicked me out of school for arriving in a Bikini."

She added: “He was my headmaster and basically I decided I wasn’t going to go into school that day because I fancied something a bit different.

“I didn’t go in often, I used to do guest appearances really but on this occasion I decided to go down right by school there’s a big field.”

She added: “Frank was a lovely headmaster though, I don’t want to dob him in completely.”

Later in the show she described the time she got into a fight while dressed as a Christmas Elf.

She said: "I worked in the grottos, in Manchester Wigan and Bolton, I did it for several years.

"The problem is every Santa you have they all have their own issues.

"They are all very narcissitic individuals.

"If you are on a shift with a Santa who is a plonker it's a long day.

"'And on this particular day he kept saying 'I am not just a Santa Claus, I'm the family therapist.'

"It was a stressful shift, I went out for a cigarette, I got in trouble for having a cigarette in my uniform."

The host Rob Brydon asked her to paint a picture of the Elf uniform.

She said: "It was an elf house and elf suit, that's about it really.

"Half of it was red half of it was green."

She added: "'I kept the uniform on, went for a cigarette break, got in loads of trouble, another elf was like 'we have got to get out of here let's get to the pub.'

"We needed this, me and this girl, I was a small elf, five foot three, I was an early target.

"I got a bit of abuse, after a bit it got a bit irritating.

"I got into a bit of rough and tumble with this one woman, we are on the floor rolling around."

She later said she was "hair sensitive" and the other woman got a good grip on the hair and she was "done."

The other team guessed it was true and she admitted it had in fact taken place.

The actress has spoken of her love of filming in Bolton.

She filmed Alma's Not Normal in the town this year.

The show was a repeat of last year's Christmas Special.
