Bolton residents are being reminded of changes to bin collections over Christmas and New Year.
There will be no bin collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Years Day and will instead be collected on different dates.
Collections of beige and burgundy bins that would normally fall on December 25 or December 26 will be collected on an earlier date.
Beige and burgundy bins that would normally be collected on January 1 will instead be collected between January 3 and January 5.
Collections of grey bins that would usually be scheduled on the festive dates will happen a few days later - see poster below.
Green bins will not be collected now up until Monday, January 8.
Residents are also being reminded where all the wrapping paper, packaging and foot waste can be recycled.
All food waste such as peelings, turkey bones, tea bags and coffee grinds, and any unpackaged out of date food, can go into the food waste container or green bin.
Plastic bottles, glass bottles, drinks cans, jars, food tins, foil trays and empty aerosols can all be placed in the burgundy bin.
Christmas cards, ordinary wrapping paper and paper gift bags without glitter, as well as cardboard packaging can be recycled in the beige bin.
Bows, ribbons, polystyrene and plastic pots, tubs and trays cannot be recycled and need to go in the grey bin so they can be used to generate electricity.

Residents are also being advised to not put batteries of any kind in grey bins or recycling bins as they can cause fires in waste wagons and at the recycling centre.
Instead, they can be put in the recycling containers at most supermarkets.
Christmas trees can be taken to the tip and put in the green waste. They can also be collected by the council for a small charge. Call 01204 336 632 to arrange a collection.
Bolton’s recycling rate has increased to over 49 percent and the resulting savings have been used to fund vital council services in other areas.
Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Climate Change and Environment, Cllr Richard Silvester, said: “As in previous years, over Christmas and New Year it’s necessary to temporarily change bin collections so that our staff can enjoy the festive season.
“Bins will continue to be collected but people should use our guide and website to find out exactly when their bins will be picked up.
“With all the gifts, food and drink that come with Christmas this is also a really important time of year for recycling.
“Bolton has a recycling rate of almost fifty percent – well above the national average – so I’m proud to say that people here are among the best in the country and I’m sure will want to do their bit over the festive season.
“As always, putting the right things in the right bin and keeping non-recyclable items out beige and burgundy bins is really important because it only takes a few wrong items to cause problems at the recycling centre.”
Residents are lastly being asked to make sure bin lids are closed and bins are put at the edge of properties by 7am on the day of the scheduled collection.
Make sure that vehicles are parked responsibly to allow waste collections to access streets.
