Staff at a Bolton business has helped raise more than £2,000 after taking part in a 24-hour cycling challenge for a great cause.
Two groups of 24 covered 872 miles on a fixed bike in a gym on the same site as the Firstcom Europe office, in Parklands, opposite the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Each person cycled in rotation, completing an hour each, aiming to cover as many miles as possible in 24 hours for Movember.
Marketing director of the telecommunications company, Steve Pacitto, said: “It was absolutely brilliant, and it was really well attended.
“It was a friendly competition to try and make a difference.

“The CEO Christian Bleakley is very passionate about men’s mental health and wellbeing.
“Members of his family and other members of the Firstcom team are survivors of cancer so he’s keen to promote awareness and men checking, as well as raise money.
“To those who came down in support, if only to see the pain in colleagues’ faces, we appreciate you.”
During the virtual Peloton event, the teams managed to raise £2,400, and beat the 600 mile target they set themselves.
That is the equivalent distance to the Copenhagen offices of Firstcom from the head offices of Firstcom Europe in Bolton.
The two teams were led by Firstcom Europe CEO Christian Bleakley and UK Managing Director Ewan Kearney.
The cycling challenge ran from 4pm on Thursday, November 30 to the same time on Friday December 1.
In addition, for those who did not do the challenge, other members of staff tried to cover 60km of walking, across the month, in recognition of the men that take their own life.
Some people also grew moustache in aid of the cause.
The month of November saw as many as 316,000 people set up fundraisers for men’s health.
This was also the year that marked 20 years since Movember was founded.
Although Movember has ended, people can still donate to the cause by clicking here (www.uk.movember.com/donate).
