A pub is back open after being given a revamp in time for customers to celebrate the festive season.
The Black Horse Pub in Farnworth reopened last weekend after four months of work and now boasts a new look.
The Higher Market Street pub is now looking more modern, with new carpets, freshly painted walls and a new bar to boot.
Tamara Denton may be the youngest landlady in Bolton, aged just 23, and runs the establishment with her partner Dylan Greenhalgh.
She said: “We painted and decorated the full pub and change the lighting, so it is brighter and not dull anymore.
“The bar has been replaced and now we are getting our regulars back and waiting to see what we will do in the future.”
The couple plan to re-introduce kitchen food after the new year in February.
So far, the pub has received a warm welcome back to the community as people look forward to going back to their local.
Tamara has a personal connection to The Black Horse as she used to work there.
She said: “I worked there when it was open and then when it became available, I contacted Heineken and got my licence.
“I am only 23 so I think they were a little worried, but I love the pub and love the customers.
“The previous owners gave it a bad reputation as beer was always running out but that will not happen to us.”
As well as the décor, the pub’s prices have also been reduced.
She said: “Everyone who came in said it was much nicer, cleaner, and brighter.
“It is clean and fresh, and people think we have done a really good job with it and they love the new prices.
“The pub was previously one of the most expensive, but we have made it cheaper and so now it is one of the cheapest instead.
“We just wanted to bring it back to life, because why not? I love seeing the customers here.”
The pub was often labelled as "dirty" in the past according to Tamara who said more people have now been coming in.
For 2024, Tamara and Dylan plan to bring back live bands and food.
