People who lost a loved one after being cared for at Bolton Hospice gathered to remember relatives and friends at an emotional event.
Dozens braved the cold weather for the annual Light Up a Life event at the hospice on Wednesday night.
Participants held candles as they took part in Christmas carols and listened to prayers from multiple faiths.
After being welcomed in, people sang Hark! The Herald Angels Sing before the Bolton Choir performed a Medley.
There was also a poem read out which was written by Phil Isherwood, who is the poet in resident at the hospice.
There was also a rendition of 12 Days of Christmas.
John Hall, the spiritual care and bereavement support lead at the hospice, gave a reflection.
He said in winter we can see "blue skies" and darker weather and can feel under pressure to feel like the blue sky.
A singer then delivered two solo performances of That's Christmas to Me and Dancing in the Sky.
The ceremony ended with We Three Kings and Winter Wonderland with a blessing read by Mr Hall between the songs.
Among those to attend was Judith Mulroney whose husband Andrew lost his life after being in the hospice in May this year.
Mrs Mulroney said: "I did not know what to expect but it was really good.
"The staff at the hospice were fantastic.
"My husband was in there for two weeks, he loved it.
"I loved the ceremony, it was really good.
"I will be coming back next year."
