Residents are being invited to get ready for week two of Bolton’s Put Big Light On celebrations.

After an incredible first week, the team are gearing up for the launch of week two, from Thursday, December 7 to Saturday, December 9.

With a more vibrant and celebratory vibe for families, this week Victoria Square will become host to Evanescent.

Evanescent is a multi-award-winning artwork that has been exhibited in 24 different cities in 18 different countries.

It bridges the gap between art and architecture, existing within the realm of "art-chitecture".

Alongside this, at various locations across the town centre, installations such as Our Spectral Vision, Aqualux, Peep Hole Wall and Sound Intervention Projector Bikes will be displayed.

Children can also create light up balloons in the museum and join the party with Disco Dave – all for free.

Hot food and treats will be available on Victoria Square with some mulled wine and a sing song in The Albert Bar, in the Albert Halls complex - featuring a full line up of live Christmas music.

Executive cabinet member for culture at the council, Cllr Nadeem Ayub, said: “Week one of the festival was spectacular, the public really got on board, and it was fantastic to see the crowds in the town centre.

“Providing free family events across the Christmas period is so important in ensuring that everybody can join in cultural activities.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Evanescent and urge everybody to come and join in the free festive fun.”
