The M60 and M66 are currently seeing traffic build-ups this morning.
The M66 southbound exit for M60 is congested this morning and due to free-up from 8am onwards but may still move slow.
Drivers are warned to expect slight delays here as morning rush hour commences.
The M60 anti-clockwise within Junction 4 is also experiencing more delays this morning.
As colder weather hits the North West including Bolton, drivers are warned to expect more delays in the coming weeks and to prepare.
A spokesman for the National Highways North West said: "To help keep you on the move, we have 535 gritters based at 128 depots strategically located across the network.
"At the start of each winter we have over 280,000 tonnes of salt stored in our barns.
"When the weather gets severe, all of our gritters can have snow ploughs fitted and we also have 21 snow blowers which can remove up to 2,500 tonnes of snow per hour.
"We have around 250 weather stations across our network, monitoring the conditions around the clock. We use this information on overhead signs to warn you of severe weather and road conditions."
All weather updates which can affect driving will be updated by the National Highways Team.
