Gritters are set to hit Bolton roads this evening as temperatures plummet.
A full route grit will get underway at 6.30pm, say Bolton Council.
According to the Met Office, temperatures in the borough are set to drop to 2°C with frost predicted in some areas.
Tomorrow the temperature will fall to zero with maximum temperatures of 5°C
After a sunny day, skies are set to remain clear overnight with temperatures set to drop to freezing and below between midnight and 9am on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “After a frosty start to Saturday, bright sunshine covers the region allowing temperatures to slowly rise through the morning in very light winds. Remaining rather cold through the day. Maximum temperature 5°C.
“Frost overnight into Sunday but cloud and rain moving in from the west later. Sunny spells through Monday as temperatures turn milder once again. Drier and brighter on Tuesday.”
Bolton Council stated: "All seven of our gritters will be out covering the full route starting at 1830 hrs on 24/11/2023."
