Tributes have been paid to a young motorcyclist who died in a crash with an HGV yesterday, November 21.
The man, who was aged just 24, died following the crash on Tonge Moor Road.
The crash took place at around 12.20pm, with police officers and paramedics arriving.
However, despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead on scene after suffering ‘fatal injuries’.
Now, balloons and flowers in tribute to him have been left at the junction of Tonge Moor Road and Thicketford Road, where the crash took place.
One balloon reads: “Rest easy mate, see you on the other side. Taken way too soon! Lots of love, Gineve xxx”
A card reads: “To Conner, Night night, sleep tight our beautiful boy. We love you always, Auntie Vic and Auntie Rachel.”
Another says: “RIP Conner brother! See you on the other side! Love Little xxx”
One other balloon reads: “Rest in peace Conner D, you will NEVER be forgotten! Lots of love, Kourts xxx”
Tonge Moor Road and surrounding streets were cordoned off throughout yesterday afternoon and evening following the crash.
One resident said: “It’s bad that this happened in the area, so close to home.
“I do feel sorry for those involved.”
A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 12:20pm this afternoon, Tuesday, November 21, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a HGV and a motorbike on Tonge Moor Road in Bolton.
"Officers attended the scene and despite the best efforts of the emergency services and the public, a 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering fatal injuries.
"GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
"They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision."
He added: "Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting reference number of 1526 of 21/11/2023.
