A Bolton born MMA fighter is set to compete in front of thousands of fans in a Europe wide showdown.
Jack Cartwright recently won his Oktagon MMA debut with a dominant first round submission victory over Brazilian, Junior Assis.
As one of Europe’s biggest MMA event makes its UK return, Cartwright will again feature on the card, this time in a 'grudge match' with former champion, Jonas Magard. The pair met in the cage following Cartwright’s debut.
They are now due to settle their differences on January 27 at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, with the winner in line to challenge champion, Felipe Lima for a title.
Jack said: "It was an absolute pleasure to be back in the cage, fighting for Oktagon MMA.
"I spent too much time out, but was good to knock the dust off, can’t wait for a busy 2024 - every single one of them can get it. Next world title coming up."
Talking about his opponent, he added: “I’ve never said a bad word about him, except that I’d beat him and his team knows it. I'll prove it in January."
