Bolton has been hit with a weather warning as Storm Debi hits the UK.

The yellow warning for wind, the lowest level of alert, will be in place from 4am until 6pm for Manchester.

According to the Met Office this means that strong winds are to be expected, which could bring about some power cuts, transport services being affected, and injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible.

The wind is anticipated to gradually increase in Bolton throughout the morning, starting off at 28mph, and reaching as high as 52mph by 3pm today.
