A popular village pub has welcomed two new faces behind the bar after they went in search of a new challenge.
Ian Disley and his partner Jayne Crompton took over Jolly Carter on Church Street in Little Lever, as managers, a couple of weeks ago.
Ian was previously running a signage business – ID Signage – which he is still continuing to run.
Ian said: “It’s really exciting.
“We took it over because it is a good challenge, and we didn’t feel that we could find a pub we really enjoyed because nowhere seemed to provide a good clean environment with great food and entertainment.”

The pub has also undergone a refurbishment, including new fencing, new flooring, and work which is currently being carried out in the outdoor area, with smoking shelters currently being built.
Punters can also enjoy a whole range of entertainment including quiz nights, karaoke nights, and more, which will now be more frequent.
Ian said: “All of which as gone down here very well.
“I have run several businesses you just have to approach it the same, and the important thing is that we have happy customers and staff, and that we treat them with respect and that they work hard for you, and that they get on well with customers.
“And if there is good value food and entertainment, people will come.”
Ian and Jayne have also launched a new menu, which includes a range of traditional options at reasonable prices, including vegan, and vegetarian options.
There is also a separate children’s menu with plenty to choose from.
They will also let a room, as seen on Four in a Bed, and a space for people to hire out for private functions, which is free if food and drink is bought.
Ian said: “It’s a pub where something is always going on and it’s starting to look great.”
There will also be plenty of upcoming festive events coming up to keep an eye out for.
