Bolton's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

From 9pm on Monday, November 13 to 5am on Tuesday, November 14 there will be slight delays of under 10 minutes on the M61 northbound and southbound at junction six.

This is due to a lane closure for horticultural works including cutting and planting.

From 9pm on Monday, November 13 to 6am on Monday, November 20, there will be moderate delays between 10 and 30 minutes on the M6 North and southbound between junction 21A and 26.

There will be delays due to lane closures and carriageway closures whilst improvement works take place.

From 8pm on Tuesday, November 14 to 5am on Thursday, November 16, there will be slight delays of under 10 minutes on the M61 northbound between junction three and junction four.

This is due to a lane closure for communications.

And from 8pm on Monday, November 20 to 5am February 15, there will be moderate delays between 10 and 30 minutes on the M61 in both directions between junction four and junction seven.

This is due to a lane closure for horticulture including cutting and planting.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
