DANCE team Bubblegum will be hoping their dreams do not burst in the semi-final of a huge dance competition tomorrow.

The team are part of the Twizzles Dance Troupe, who rehearse at Lostock Parish Centre. They will be competing in the Dancing In The Street competition at The Printworks in Manchester, and, if they get through to the final, could walk away with the £1,000 top prize.

Linda Hughes, who runs Twizzles, said: "We've always gone for something a bit easier for the younger girls but having seen the older girls' recent performance at Blackpool Tower we wanted to do something that was a bit more challenging."

Linda is hopeful of Bubblegum's chances of reaching the final next weekend. She said: "I'd like to think that the team will definitely get through. We're very excited about that, we're getting good vibes.,"

Bubblegum will be competing in the disco section. Already through to the final from the swing section are Paul Maguire, from Farnworth, and his dance partner, Heather Armitage, from Whitefield. Four entries have also made it through from the street dance and contemporary sections. Linda said: "Last week I went and watched the contemporary section, and the two young people who won that were phenomenal."
