Thousands of people are expected to run through the streets of Bolton town centre next June as the town hosts its biggest ever night run.
Registration for the popular event opens at 2pm on Wednesday, November 8.
Following the success of this summer’s event, the organisers have added hundreds of extra places for next year.
Night Run is the opening event for IRONMAN 70.3 weekend and takes place on Friday, June 28 next year.
This year’s event saw almost 1,200 people of all ages and abilities take to the start line, with organisers adding a 10k route alongside the traditional 5k run.
Night Run is not only the perfect warm up for those taking on IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton on the Sunday, but also a chance for family, friends and those just wanting a fun run through Bolton to take part.
The event sees participants from the age of 11 taking on the 5k race and from the age of 15 doing the 10k race.
It is also the ideal opportunity for local running clubs to get involved as part of their summer schedule, as each runner will get an official chip time on completion of the race.
Better yet, large groups of runners will receive a complimentary entry for every 15 runners.
Everyone who completes their distances will receive a finisher’s medal and t-shirt.
To enter the 5k race will cost £12 and the 10k race starts at £22.
Bolton Council’s chief executive, Sue Johnson, said: “Night Run really is a fantastic event that people enjoy every year. When else do you get the chance to run along a red carpet in Victoria Square being cheered on by enthusiastic crowds?
“What makes it special is that there is something on offer for everyone, whatever their age, ability or experience.
“From people walking the 5k route or jogging it in fancy dress, to our fabulous local running clubs going for gold in the 10k, it’s about doing whatever feels right for you, getting active and enjoying the evening.”
As well as Night Run, on the following day IRONKIDS UK then takes centre stage as 6,000 happy children get the opportunity to run on the IRONMAN red carpet.
The weekend concludes on the Sunday with almost 3,000 athletes taking on IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton where they aim to complete a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run.
