A number of roads across the borough will be closed next week while vital water works are ongoing.

The back of Higher Swan Lane will be closed for approximately three days from Tuesday, November 14.

The road closure will prohibit all traffic from using the back of Higher Swan Lane from Paulhan Street to Farhan Street to allow water works to take place.

Mill Lane in Horwich will also be closed from November 14 for approximately one day while water works are ongoing.

The closure will prohibit all traffic from going on Mill Lane from Chorley Old Road to Pike View.

Alternative routes for travel will be via Foxholes Road, Marklands Road and Georges Lane.

Finally, Whitley Street will be closed from November 14 for approximately three days while works are ongoing.

The closure will prohibit all traffic from using Whitley Street, from Loxham Street to the back of Loxham Street.

To ensure recycling bins are emptied during the works, council officials are asking residents to present them at the nearest accessible point to ensure that they can be emptied on the usual collection days.

Council officials say they want to apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
