Starbucks have said they are aware of the incident and that the store has now reopened.
A Starbucks spokesperson said: “We are aware of the incident at our Bolton store, which has now reopened.
“The safety of our partners (employees) and customers is our highest priority, and we will continue to work closely with local police as investigations continue.”
Ward councillor Cllr Hilary Fairclough said: “Obviously it’s shocking.
“It must have been frightening for anyone in the café.
“There is no good vandalism, especially in a public place like this.
“I do hope with it being a busy road that somebody may have seen something.
“It’s quite worrying.
“I am sure police will be doing everything they can.”
There will be a PACT meeting next Monday (November 13) on Drummond Street Community Centre from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Cllr Fairclough says that issues around anti-social in the area will be discussed along with this incident.
