Residents have raised concerns after a crash in Bolton on Sunday night.
The incident, involving a crash involving a police car and three parked cars, took place at around 11pm on Wigan Road.
Firefighters were called after the police car caught on fire.
Residents of the nearby properties were urged to leave due to a fear that an explosion could take place.
Concerns were raised about the standard of driving on the street where a number of crashes have taken place.
A fire service spokesperson from Bolton Central confirmed they had been sent to a road traffic collision on Wigan Road which had involved a police car.
One resident whose car was damaged was told to leave her home due to fears of an explosion.
She said: “The police car was on fire.
“We were asked to leave the house, we were out for about half an hour.
“It all finished at about 3am.
“Our car was involved, we do not know if it has been written off.
“It is a terrible road.
“There is going to have to be something done.”
“We have lived here for 20 years.
“It has been getting worse for the last five to six years.”
One car, which was involved in the crash, belongs to someone who had another vehicle written off a short time ago after it was crashed into on Wigan Road.
Another nearby resident said: “I was asleep but I heard the aftermath.
“There was a police car.
“We have seen so many crashes on this road.
“There were always accidents here.
“Before half term there was another car accident up there.
“It is because people drive so fast.”
A GMP spokesperson said: "Shortly before 11pm on Sunday 5 November 2023, a police car collided a stationary vehicle on Wigan Road in Bolton while responding to an ongoing incident elsewhere.
"Emergency services attended the scene.
"No arrests have been made and the one of the responding officers received minor injuries."
