There are many haunted places that people will know in Bolton, but there are plenty that people have not heard of.
After an urban explorer investigated some abandoned buildings in Bolton, he discovered some places that people would not know are haunted.
Jay Morris has been exploring old buildings and documenting his findings across the UK, after first having ghostly experiences since the age of three.
He also has a Youtube Channel called Morris’s Paranormal Adventures UK.
The lesser-known haunted places in Bolton seen below should definitely get you ready for Halloween:
The Shakespeare Pub, Farnworth - This is a place that was not supposed to be haunted, but Jay says there is definitely something there and, in the past, he has picked up a lot of activity with the paranormal equipment he uses.
The pub, located on Glynne Street, Farnworth, has been there for just under one hundred years and has Grade II listed status. Jay says that it was a great location to film, and he saw doors opening and closing on their own, as well as picking up lots of voices here, including his name being whispered.
Haunted tunnels in Bolton town centre – The tunnels are located off Manor Street close to the River Croal.
After Jay visited this place, he says that it only became known as the haunted tunnels after people say that they spotted an ‘angry old man’ visiting the area at night.
Abandoned farmhouse - The farm on Wingates Lane has not been widely regarded as somewhere that is haunted, but some say that a lady stands in the window, waiting for her husband.
From what Jay has found out about this place, the husband was a pilot and when he visited the building, he says he heard children giggling, and a lady asking for help.
Prop makers' house on Smithills farm land - Jay says that before he went to visit this place it was not supposed to be haunted, but there was an eerie feeling when entering the building. He believes that he caught a child spirit in the windows and heard their voice.
Jay has previously visited more well-known places in Bolton, including the historic Ivy Cottage on Cunliffe Brow, Smithills Hall, and other abandoned buildings in Rivington.
Jay has also said he is more than happy for people to send him requests for places they would like him to visit.
He said: “I try and go as many places as I can, and I have so many ghostly stories.
“I don’t always know if somewhere is haunted I just go and travel there and sometimes nothing happens, and then other times you can pick up things.
“I have had so much on the machines that you can hear, and I feel and see a lot of things.”
