The stadium sponsors of the Bolton Wanderers FC home ground have donated to a local litter-picking group 'as a sign of appreciation'.
Westhoughton based recycling firm Toughsheet has given £1,000 to a volunteer-led group passionate about keeping the local area tidy.
Horwich Clean-Up Brigade run by Charlene Bessel was reportedly struggling to fund the purchasing of essential clean-up equipment.
Managing director of Toughsheet Dougie Mercer said: “It’s an absolutely fantastic thing run by volunteers to help keep the community tidy and they do it all on their own time.
“I just thought if there was any way I could help I would do as a sign of appreciation and to make the community look a lot nicer for everybody”
The money will be used to fund brushes, hi-vis jackets, and litter grabbers.
This donation comes months after Toughsheet drew up the deal that put their name on the door to the venue previously known as the University of Bolton stadium, for five years as a result.
It is the largest sponsorship deal in the club’s history.
