Two people have been taken to hospital after a motorway crash.
The crash took place at around 12.30pm near to junction 2 of the M61 Southbound.
The motorway was initially entirely closed, before one lane was reopened. A nearby slip road was also closed.
All lanes of the motorway are now open, but the slip road remains closed.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We sent two ambulances and one response vehicle.

"Paramedics treated a number of walking wounded on scene and took two patients to hospital."
They said paramedics were called to the scene at around 12.30pm.
An eyewitness said: "Police and ambulance are on scene. The traffic very, very slow.
"Police are only letting one or two vehicles through, there are long delays on that stretch."
Speaking later on, a National Highways spokesperson said: "All lanes are now running on the M61 southbound between J2 (A666M) (M60) and J1 (Manchester) following an earlier collision.
"The entry slip road remains closed while emergency services continue to work at scene. There are delays of at least 30 minutes in the area."
