A popular professional boxer visited a youth project to see the difference the sport makes to young people’s lives.
Campbell Hatton, a professional boxer in Manchester and son of world champion Ricky Hatton, was at Premier Boxing in The Haulgh to see the work youth group Be The Change are doing as part of a boxing project.
Daniel Sukula, leader of the group, said: “We hosted a visit from the incredible professional boxer Campbell Hatton at Premier Boxing Gym to discuss our youth project and the positive impact boxing has on young people's lives. “
UK Youth awarded Be The Change a grant from The UK Youth Fund - Cost of Living, which has allowed them to continue running to provide food provision, activities and transportation for young people and ensure that every young person, regardless of their financial situation, has access to the project.
Daniel said: “The visit was a great experience for our young people and those from Premier Boxing who got the opportunity to speak to Campbell and get few tips on boxing.
“The trip also highlighted our work and impact in the community and partnership with Premier Boxing who provide us with the facility to train our young people.
“The young people also got the opportunity to be interviewed by ITV Granada again another experience for them who wish to one day become professional boxers.”
