Rotary Clubs around the borough are once again collecting warm coats for the homeless and vulnerable people in need during the winter months.

Thanks to the generosity of the people of Bolton in previous years, many have already benefited from the initiative including those in night shelters, feeding hubs and hostels as well as other people within the community.

The Rotary Clubs are asking people to now donate more coats this season.

Coats are collected, inspected, and sorted by Rotarians before being distributed to a range of local charities who are best placed to identify those in most need, and also offer additional forms of support and guidance.

Collections are now underway and donation boxes can be found at:

Christopher Hill, Immediate Past President at Turton Rotary Club said: “Wrap Up is an invaluable project for the Bolton community.

“With the dark night’s drawing in and bringing with them the cold, coupled with the recent soaring prices of food and heating, so many more people become vulnerable to cold and related illness.

“This project run by the Rotary Clubs makes a huge difference to so many.

“We have had lots of donations of children’s coats at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy that shows the local community truly cares about the wider community.”
