The latest Prime hydration drink hit shelves in Bolton this morning - and we tried to get our hands on the limited edition Glowberry edition.

The Glowberry flavour - said to taste of sour apple berries which comes in a glow-in-the-dark bottle - launched at Aldi stores.

The Bolton News headed down to the branch on Higher Bridge Street but the shelves had been cleared of the £1.99 drink by mid-morning.

One shopper who visited the store, which opened at 8am, said she was left hugely disappointed to find there were none left.

She said: “I went at 10am, and there was none left.

“The shelves and basket where they would be were completely empty.

“I was disappointed because I had been waiting to buy one.

“After it was delayed, I thought they would have more in stock.”

The Glowberry drink was initially meant to be launched on Thursday October 5 and has not been widely available in supermarkets for fans in the UK, until now, after proving extremely popular with shoppers over in the US.

The Prime Hydration Glowberry drinks, in the Specialbuys section of Aldi, are being sold for £1.99 with a limit of one per customer, with shop bosses warning that once they are gone, they are gone. As well as the ‘Rare’ version, shoppers can also try and hunt out the ‘Ultra Rare’ version of the Glowberry flavour (good luck with that!)

Prime Hydration, which is 10 per cent coconut water, contains electrolytes, B vitamins and BCAAs, has zero sugar, and only around 20 calories per bottle.

Founded by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI, Prime drinks became popular among young children and influencers' followers when launched last year, seeing long lines at supermarkets and reselling for inflated prices.

But there have been warnings over the high amount of caffeine that can be found in the energy drink versions of Prime.

Love Island star Tommy Fury may have beaten KSI on points in their widely-anticipated boxing match in Manchester on Saturday night, but at least the YouTube personality can carry on counting his Prime cash all the way to the bank.
