A family is putting on a Halloween 'spooktacular' to get people into the spirit of the season.
Those finding themselves in Hemley Close, Westhoughton maybe forgiven for thinking they have stumbled on the Addams Family residence.
For lighting up the street will be the most frightfully stunning display drawing people in.
This is the second year running, Paul and Lisa Spann have staged the show to celebrate Halloween and raise money for The Hub in Westhoughton.
This year the Halloween light show promises a Stranger Things theme, with music and lots of spooky props including spiders, tombstones, and bats, as well as the Ghostbusters with over 75,000 LEDS used to build the display.
Paul said: “It gives the children a lot of fun, they all seem to love it, even the adults.
“And I enjoy the technical aspect of it, and it raises money for a charity at the same time.
“All the light sequences are to music with an automated countdown 10 minutes before.
“It’s hard work but it’s enjoyable work and to create a light and music sequence takes two days but it is worth it.”
This year, the couple chose The Hub in Westhoughton to raise money for sensory areas for children and adults.
The light shows will start on October 27 and will run until Halloween night, with one show a day at 6pm and two shows at 6pm and 7pm on Saturdays.
There are new surprises at each showing before the family decorate their house for Christmas.
Paul said: “The wiring will stay in place when I am replacing the props for Christmas.
“Certain things not specific to Halloween will stay up but anything like bats can be switched out for stars.
“I know what people like now after I did a Wednesday theme last year and it’s nice to see people say ‘wow’ with some memorized by it.”
The couple are hoping to raise £1000 for The Hub with a Just Giving ( https://www.justgiving.com/page/halloween2023) page people can donate to. There will also be buckets on the night too.
The money raised will fund sensory equipment
