A motorcyclist has suffered life-changing injuries in a crash.
Emergency services were called to Little Lever last night after a crash involving a van and a motorbike.
It happened on Church Street just after 10pm.
Officers arrested the driver of the van.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 10.13pm on Saturday 7 October, a van collided with a motorbike on Church Street.
"The motorcyclist sustained significant injuries which will be life-changing.
"The van driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving."
Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam or ring doorbell footage of the incident to come forward and help their enquiries.
Church Street was closed into the early hours following the crash.
A nearby resident said: "I heard what happened but I was not here for most of the day.
"But I hope that everyone is okay, it did look really bad online.
"We do sometimes have issues on this road."
