The start of Autumn saw the courts deal with a range of crimes and criminals from across Bolton.
Drug dealers, a dangerous driver who killed an innocent man and a man found with indecent pictures of children and animals all passed through the courts.
What follows are the names and crimes of four people jailed in September.
Zoltan Lakatos, 26, was driving dangerously along Halliwell Road in Bolton when he killed highly respected charity founder 60-year-old Aqeel Akhtar.
Lakatos was jailed for 14 years and five months.
Jake Barrett, 33, answered mobile phone messages using his own name to deal ketamine.
He was jailed for four years.
Justin Brazier, 52, had previously been jailed for having sex with his dogs. He was brought back to court last month after being caught with indecent images of children and animals on his phone.
Brazier was sent to prison for two years and hit with a 10 year notification order.
Jamal Ali, 32, attacked a woman he had been in a relationship with in her own home.
Ali was given a prison sentence of 15 months and a three year restraining order.
