Taking gaming to new heights: world's biggest playable arcade revealed

Playing pinballer and winning a free meal, of course. Oh, and to make it even better this game of pinballer is 30 feet tall?  

This comes as new research has revealed Pinballer, Pac Man, and Space Invaders are the best and most loved arcade games of all time. 

To celebrate the launch of its new in-app game, Pinballer, KFC Rewards Arcade took gaming to new heights by unveiling the world's largest playable arcade game.

The poll of 2,000 gamers found that 32% enjoy the nostalgic memories associated with playing arcade games and the majority (67%) said arcade games hold a special place in gaming culture. 

However, 39% of people admitted the high cost of playing arcade games deters them from visiting arcades. So, the Colonel is giving fans what they want and bringing back the ultimate arcade game, Pinballer.  

KFC gave arcade and fried chicken fans the chance to play one of their favourite arcade games in a much bigger way.

This comes as research uncovered that 84% of those surveyed get a buzz when winning a prize from playing an arcade game, instead of simply bagging the top score, so the Colonel ensured people who took part could win exclusive KFC Rewards Arcade merch and of course, free chicken.  

Mirroring the in-app experience, players of the giant Pinballer game were in with the chance to instantly win one of 12 Finger Lickin’ Good prizes, all of which can be won on the KFC Rewards Arcade App.

WIDER SURVEY RESULTS: 

·         The 80’s was voted the best decade for arcade games (29 per cent), with the 70s and 90s coming joint (14 per cent).  

·         A third (34 per cent) said they have won a prize from playing an arcade game, with a toy (69 per cent), token and coins (57 per cent) and money (52 per cent) coming out on top. 

·         It was found 43 per cent would recommend arcade games to younger generations and 19 per cent actually have children who play the same arcade games that they used to as a child.  

·         26 per cent said they would have a pinball machine in their house if they could. 

·         Two thirds (67 per cent) said arcade games hold a special place in gaming culture, while 32 per cent said it gives them fond, nostalgic memories from their childhood. 

·         21% of people admitted to spending most of their childhood playing arcade games 

·         72% of people said they believe arcade games are timeless and 43% would recommend arcade games to younger generations. 

·         45% of those surveyed even stated they would purchase their favourite arcade game for their house, with over a quarter (26%) of those asked saying they would have a pinball machine in their house if they could!
