A man has been charged with several counts of burglary allegedley commited in Bolton.

Police announced on Thursday evening that Ryan O’Neill, 45, had been charged with a total of seven counts of burglary offences.

All of the alleged crimes are said to have been committed in the Halliwell area in September last year, August this year and earlier this month.

Detective Sergeant Deighton from Bolton’s Neighbourhood Priority Crime Team said: “The investigation team have worked hard to obtain these charges and will continue to work hard to make Bolton a safer place.

“The charges relate to an investigation into burglaries in the Halliwell area of Bolton which occurred in September 2022, August and September 2023.

“Tackling Neighbourhood offences is a priority for GMP and we are determined to keep our communities safe.”

O’Neill, of Higher Clough Close in Bolton, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Friday September 29.
