There has been plenty of star spotting going on in Bolton this week as shooting for dramas starring some of TV and films most famous faces have been taking place in the borough.
Filming for Sherwood, starring David Morrissey took place in Morris Green yesterday, while Ridley, with Adrian Dunbar, was on location in Bolton town centre.
The first series of Sherwood was shown in June last year.
The show is set in a Nottinghamshire village which is still haunted by divisions from the miners’ strike.
It looks as covert police activities and also stars Alun Armstrong and Lesley Manville.
Filming took place at the Ellesmere Road Social Club in Morris Green yesterday afternoon.
Production crews were seen outside the premises as the filming took place inside the property.
Residents on the nearby street were advised they may have to move their vehicles to allow filming to take place.
Vicky Humphries, who lives nearby, said: “We got a letter through the door saying they would be filming.
“I have not watched Sherwood, I do not get the time to watch TV, but it will be exciting to see our street on the TV.”
Bolton has regularly featured on the nation’s TV screens in recent years.
Robert Carlyle, famous for his role as Trainspotting’s Francis Begbie, was in town for filming of Toxic Town in Breightmet recently.
And Bolton also featured on the world’s longest running soap opera Coronation Street.
Filming for the iconic show set in the fictional town of Weatherfield took place on Le Mans Cresent in April this year.
In September last year there was filming for a TV show based on a graphic novel.
Bodies was adapted from the work by Si Spencer and features four different eras of London as the same murder for investigated.
