A pub at the heart of the community is set to close its doors TONIGHT.
Speaking to The Bolton News, landlord Heather Caygill, says that The Grey Man in Westhoughton will be closing for now due to a change with the management company – but she hopes the pub will be open soon.
She took over the pub last summer as a new challenge, and says she is sad that they are closing but is hopeful they will get the news they are able to open again soon.

Heather said: “It was a shock when we found out, but we are staying, and so we will be doing the maintenance, decorating and any jobs that still need doing.
“Although we are closing for now, we are glad we are staying because me and the family love the pub.
“We have done the pub up and did our best.
“We have had fun days and have nearly raised all the money for a defibrillator.
“I don’t think it will be long before we get to know the next step.”
The pub will officially close at 11pm.
In a statement to customers Heather said that they are hoping to reopen in the next two weeks, but she said this could be longer.

Heather has always been creative and when she was in her first management job, in between being aHeather’s children Sean and Paige, also help run the pub.
Heather, 53, who lives in Westhoughton, has previously worked at the Bird I’th Hand, and the Red Lion pub, where she transformed them both.
Once open again punters can expect regular entertainment evenings, BBQs, and fundraising events for different causes.
