Comedians are set to come together to raise funds for a primary school – and one of them is a well known Bolton face.
Comedy night Humour for the Hill is being held at Old Links Golf Club on Friday, November 17.
Maura Jackson, chief executive of BackUp North West, will be hosting the event alongside MC Aaron Woods, Dean Maloney, and Amit Mistry, raising money for Markland Hill Primary School.
The night is being held to raise funds for the school so that they can provide extra facilities to support children’s wellbeing with tickets priced at £20.
Maura said: “I have wanted to use my comedy events to raise money for charity while being a professionally run event.
“It was originally focused on BackUp and then after I’d raised £2,000 for them I widened the reach.
“I first of all did an event at the Bereavement Cafe on September 23 and raised £400, I will then be doing the Markland Hill event and then I will do an event at Endeavour in February.

“I picked the school as my grandson who lives with me is in year one and my colleague’s son is there too, in year six, and she is helping me.
“I’ve set it up so the school benefits, comedians are paid, we use local facilities and support the economy and people attend and get to have a great night - wins all round.
“I still can’t believe I am actually a stand-up comedian!!”
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.
The ticket price covers a meal and the entertainment from four comics from Liverpool, Manchester, Yorkshire, and Bolton.
Everyone is welcome to attend but attendees must be aged over 18.
