Would-be patients have been warned again about the length of time they will have to wait at Royal Bolton Hospital’s A&E department.
As of the afternoon of Tuesday, September 26 waits have lengthened to around 10 hours before people get the chance to be seen by a doctor, unless they need urgent treatment.
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust has warned people to only go to A&E in the event of an emergency.
A statement said: “For patients who don't require immediate treatment, the wait time to be seen by a doctor in our emergency department is currently 10 hours.
“Our emergency department is working as hard as it can but anything you can do to help is appreciated.
“If your condition is not a medical emergency you may be better elsewhere, such as your GP or pharmacist.
“Please choose the right service and use 111.nhs.uk for advice on the best place to find help.”

Authorities at the hospital have repeatedly warned people about how long they may have to wait when checking in to A&E
Earlier this month staff warned would-be patients that waits had lengthened to four hours.
But now according to most recent reports from the hospital as of this Tuesday waits have lengthened further still.
