A company that “strives to keep customers happy” has been honoured for its efforts with an award.
Trucking company J.O. Transport Ltd was honoured at this year’s Bolton News Business Award with the Customer Services Award.
At a ceremony held at the Bolton Whites Hotel last Thursday, logistics coordinator Joe Davis stepped up to the stage to collect the award in behalf of the company.
He said: “It’s a real honour because 90 per cent of my job is customer service so I'm really proud to take this home on behalf of J.O. Transport Ltd.
"We strive to keep customers happy and this is for them as well."
At last week’s ceremony, a keynote address from Bolton Council leader Nick Peel told the audience how he hoped the authority could help businesses meet customers’ changing demands.
Cllr Peel said: “Last month’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival brought half a million visitors into the town, giving a major boost to the local economy.
“Our Cultural Strategy and Visitor Economy Strategy will build on these successes and boost footfall all year round.
“Meanwhile, our new Economic Growth and Resilience Plan will drive further investment, job creation, and match skills provision to the needs of local employers.”
He added: “But supporting business is not always about the big strategies and major investments.
“As business leaders you will know that sometimes all you need is good advice, some reliable guidance, or the right connections.
“That’s where our Business Bolton team comes in.
“The council’s business support service is always on hand to offer advice on developing your business plan, financing business growth, and new ways to take a product or service to market.
“Tonight, Bolton Council is proud to sponsor the Innovation Award.
“This is a fitting category for us, because innovation is at the heart of everything we do.
“Whether that’s in our approach to partnerships, to securing government funding or in reimagining our town centres to meet the changing demands of today’s customers.”
