A Bolton man who harassed a woman who was described as a "high risk to partners" has been spared jail.
Mohammed Shamas made numerous phone calls to a woman over a three day period in June this year.
He also refused to hand over her car keys.
The 31-year-old admitted harassment at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Following this he was given a sentence of eight week which was suspended for two years.
The court said “the offences are so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified” as he has a “previous record for violence, a history of domestic violence callouts and was deemed a high risk to partners.”
However it also concluded there was a “realistic prospect of rehabilitation.”
Shamas, from Crescent Road, Bolton, was ordered to complete the building better relationships programme.
