A pub in Manchester has won an accolade in the Great British Pub Awards 2023.
This year, a record number of pubs entered the awards and experienced two rounds of judging from industry professionals to find the best in the UK.
The pubs entered in 18 different categories, including Best Pub for Food and Best Sustainable Pub.
Pubs across the UK were successful in the awards including some in Manchester, let’s take a look.
Manchester pub wins at Great British Pub Awards 2023
The Old Abbey Taphouse in Manchester won the Community Hero award.
The pub is praised on Google Reviews with a rating of 4.6 from 513 reviews while on Tripadvisor it has a rating of 4.5 from six reviews.
One reviewer on Google Reviews said: “Great pub in the middle of a semi industrial park with numerous business you wouldn't know it was there! Has great music nights on frequently.they serve pub food eg burgers and chips reasonable priced but do check out their nights as really worth attending”

A reviewer on Tripadvisor commented: “The staff were so friendly and welcoming to me and my friends. They were really busy on a sunny day after lockdown but went out of their way to make it a great evening.”
The Great British Pub of the Year award went to The Cholmondeley Arms in Cheshire.
This pub also won the Best Country/Rural Pub of the Year accolade.
