A man has been arrested in Bolton after police discovered a cannabis farm in an industrial unit.
Officers discovered a cannabis farm in Horwich today after carrying out a warrant.
Police from the Bolton West team and the force tactical aid paid a visit to an industrial unit on Catherine Street East after receiving 'intelligence'.
During the warrant, a man was arrested on suspicion of 'cultivation of cannabis' and 'abstracting electricity'.
Cultivation of cannabis is a criminal offence which makes the caring of cannabis plants, including nurturing them, feeding them and watering them, illegal.
Abstracting electricity is an offence and involves a person dishonestly using electricity or causing it to be wasted or diverted.
The man remains in custody for questioning about the offences.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "The Bolton West team and the force tactical aid unit have executed a warrant on Catherine Street East Horwich following intelligence that an industrial unit was being used as a cannabis farm.
"One male was arrested on scene on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis which is a Class B substance under the misuse of drugs act. The male was also arrested on suspicion of abstracting electricity.
"The male remains in custody for questioning about the offences."
The raid is the latest in a number to have taken place in Bolton, with police finding cannabis farms in the town centre.
In some cases cannabis farms have been linked to fires.
A cannabis farm was discoved in Bolton town centre after police were called to a suspected burglary in November.
