A sister has paid tribute to her ‘perfect’ sibling, who tragically died at the age of just 26 in her home in Bolton.
Carla Couperthwaite was found dead on Tuesday, September 5, at a flat in Deane, along with her brother, Ste Fisher.
The sister of Carla and Ste, Courtney Burtak, has now spoken about the family’s heartbreak, describing Carla as a ‘perfect’ sister.
Courtney said: “Carla was very outgoing and had a strong personality.
“A lot of people misunderstood her, but she was my best friend and not just my sister.
“She was very loud, funny, and the light of the house all the time.
“She was sweet and kind, she was the best sister anyone could need.”
The family have been hit hard after the 26-year-old’s death and released balloons into the air from their home to honour her memory.
Courtney said: “Carla would wake up early in the morning and do all the cleaning because she loved it.
“It’s been hard, it’s like we have been in a trance and cannot believe it really.
“All the family got together, and we let balloons off and fireworks so we could light up the sky for Carla.
“It was nice for the whole family being together, we just let them off and spoke about all the memories of Carla.”
Courtney and the rest of her family including sister Jade have spent time at the Relph's Funeral Care in Bolton saying goodbye.
She said: “We were at the mortuary all day and it was just so hard being there, but we are trying to be strong.
“I do not know what life is going to be like without her because it has always been three of us.
“She was the best aunty to our nieces and a great sister and daughter. She was perfect."
The family are now also grieving a family friend, Dennis Rylance, who died last night on September 18.
Courtney said: “We are not dealing with it well because we don’t know how to live without Carla.
“Last night our Dennis died, and we feel like Carla is not alone now as she was very close to him.
“Dennis helped us our whole life.
“He was the best man in the world, he had travelled the world and lived a full life.
"Carla was so caring and loving but misunderstood by a lot of people.”
The family are also raising money to give Carla a beautiful goodbye.
