An abandoned car was seized after police saw it being driven “erratically” on a major Bolton road.
The BMW was spotted on Thursday night by officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood team on Topp Way.
After a pursuit the car was found abandoned on nearby Noel Street.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Neighbourhood officers last night saw this vehicle driving erratically on Topp Way.
“The vehicle failed to stop for officers and was later found abandoned on Noel Street.
“The vehicle was seized, and enquiries are ongoing.”
An image supplied by police at the scene shows the car abandoned in the dark on Noel Street with its headlights still on.
This comes amid long running concerns about crime on the roads in Bolton and further afield across Greater Manchester in recent months including cases of car theft, dangerous driving, driving without licences and driving without insurance.
Police have also reported recent cases of drink driving and drug driving.
Officers have urged anyone with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour on the roads or otherwise in their communities to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can also call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
