A Bolton school is celebrating after it retained the highest rating following a recent inspection by the education watchdog.
Eden Boys’ School Bolton has retained its ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating after a recent inspection on July 3 and 4.
The report, published this week, confirms that Eden Boys’ School, located at Wolfenden Street, Bolton, continues to be ‘outstanding’ in all areas.
It was the school’s second Ofsted inspection, with its last visit taking place in 2017.
According to the report, ‘pupils flourish in this school’ and ‘pupils consider it a privilege to attend Eden Boys’ School’.
The report states the quality of education ‘equips pupils to fulfil aspirations’.
It states: “Leaders place no limits on what pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), can achieve.
“Leaders are deeply committed to ensuring that pupils have the highest aspirations for themselves.
“Pupils have incredibly positive attitudes towards their learning. They trust that their teachers will help them to achieve well.
“This motivates pupils to work hard and to conduct themselves in line with leaders’ high expectations. Pupils strive to serve their local community.”
A culture of excellence has been cultivated at the school, according to the report, with inspectors finding that ‘leaders are committed to providing a high-quality education that addresses social disadvantage’.
During their visit, Ofsted’s inspection team praised pupils’ behaviour and the learning environment.
They concluded that ‘the school is an oasis of calm. Pupils' sensible behaviour ensures that learning is seldom disrupted.’
Inspectors also noted how the school identifies the needs of pupils with SEND.
It states: “Leaders swiftly identify the needs of pupils with SEND. Leaders ensure that these pupils receive the support that they need to access all aspects of school life.
“Teachers use highly effective strategies to help pupils with SEND to access the same curriculum as their peers. Pupils with SEND thrive.”
Arshad Ashraf, Principal at Eden Boys’ School, Bolton, said: “We are incredibly proud of this recognition, which reflects the outstanding educational experience we provide for our pupils.
“We are particularly delighted that the report acknowledges the respectful behaviour of our pupils, their high levels of attainment and the commitment they have to their local community.
“Thank you to our wonderful staff who are just as inspiring as the pupils they teach; this outcome would not be possible without their unwavering commitment, along with the support of our parents, carers, and governors.
“We will continue to nurture our pupils to reach their potential and inspire them to be tomorrow’s leaders.”
