Pupils from a primary school took part in a special behind-the-scenes tour at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Bolton.
Sixty year four pupils from Marsh Green Primary School in Wigan were given a guided tour of the fulfilment centre, the size of 5.5 football pitches, where they saw how Amazon stores, picks and packs products that are shipped from Bolton to customers in the UK and around the world.
The tour is part of Amazon Future Engineer, a comprehensive childhood-to-career programme that offers children and young adults the opportunity to get involved in free STEM-related activities, training, and bursaries.
The programme is designed to inspire, educate, and equip people with the tools they need to become the inventors, innovators, and engineers of tomorrow.
John Strydom, general manager at Amazon at Logistics North, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Marsh Green Primary School to our fulfilment centre and give them an insight into the work we do at Amazon.
"The pupils were extremely inquisitive and attentive - we hope that they had fun and benefited from their visit.”
Mr Craig Todd, deputy headteacher from Marsh Green Primary School, said: “Thank you so much to John and the team for welcoming us - the children had a wonderful time and found the tour really interesting."
